Babies
This event took place in our Live Chat Room June 13, 2002
Jules -- CCM: Hi, everyone. We're here with Ann Douglas. Ann is the prolific writer of 18 books, including the one we're discussing today, The Mother of all Baby Books. This book walks us through preparing for baby and on through that first year of diapering, feeding, teething, and all those "firsts!" Join in now as Ann shares her wisdom. We'll talk tips, how-tos and sure-fire ways to survive your baby's first year. Here's Ann! Can you give us a brief background of who you are?
Ann Douglas: Sure! I'm the mother of four children, ages 4 through 14, and a writer who specializes in writing about pregnancy/parenting. My other books include The Unofficial Guide to Having a Baby, Trying Again: A Guide to Pregnancy After Miscarriage, Stillbirth, and Infant Loss, and The Mother of All Pregnancy Books: The Ultimate Guide to Conception, Birth, and Everything In Between.
MJ: I know that you have dealt with infertility. Was any of that secondary infertility and then what did you find was the hardest to deal with of that?
Ann Douglas: My personal experience was with primary infertility, but I have a very close friend who is dealing with secondary infertility, and I know how it can turn your family's dreams upside down. You plan for a certain gap between children and yet, Mother Nature won't cooperate. It's frustrating and heartbreaking. Is that what you're dealing with, MJ?
MJ: Not now personally but have in the past. Now I seem to have the opposite problem -- being "too fertile."
