Bloggers Launch a "Gratitude Challenge" Asking People Around the World to Take Note and Give Thanks
Tiny Prints honors "World Gratitude Day"" by spearheading an online movement to inspire personal reflection and expression around the globe
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, September 21, 2009 —Tiny Prints (www.tinyprints.com), a recognized leader for online premium stationery, is honoring "World Gratitude Day" today with a call-to-action to join a social movement for personal reflection and expression of gratitude. The online movement – appropriately called "The Gratitude Challenge" – inspires people to counter everyday stress and negativity with daily affirmations of gratitude. To join the movement, visit www.gratitudechallenge.com.
The spirit of The Gratitude Challenge is to examine every-day experiences and realize how even the smallest moments can be profound enough to give a renewed perspective. To join the movement, visit The Gratitude Challenge Web site to find the tools to participate, including downloadable calendars and checklists; detailing daily activities, ideas, and inspiration so that people can easily interact, share, and express gratitude.
"We founded Tiny Prints to inspire new generations to appreciate the timeless traditions of giving and receiving personal thanks and heartfelt expression," said Ed Han, Co-Founder and CEO of Tiny Prints. "Our goal for 'The Gratitude Challenge' is to learn just how much gratitude can make a difference in a person's life."
Genesis of The Gratitude Challenge
Tiny Prints created The Gratitude Challenge to spark an online movement by asking an exclusive set of 13 popular bloggers to join the 16 Tiny Prints employees to simply express gratitude for the little things that kept them smiling. The original program ran for 21 days in late August through early September 2009.
Throughout the 21 days, the participants expressed their gratitude with written word, beautiful photography and personal videos on their blogs. Each expression shared intimate and personal moments of gratitude, ranging from the smell of freshly baked cookies, to their beautiful children and life after a serious car accident. According to Han, "the expressions of gratitude began with the obvious and, over time, morphed into some deep and very personal moments. It was quite touching."
"I joined The Gratitude Challenge to force myself to actually stop, take a moment, and reflect on the elements of my life that make me the most happy. It’s as simple as that," said Arianne Segerman, creator of the popular blog To Think is To Create, who also was one of the movement’s founding bloggers. "The Challenge was a journey, and I learned a lot about myself, and my love for my family, along the way. In honor of World Gratitude Day, I truly hope others take that journey with me."
