Multiple Blessings

For Caroline Simas, creativity has been a life long passion. After teaching elementary school, she began a decorative painting business called The Creative Palette where she hand-painted everything from children's furniture to baby linens and lamps. About this same time, she was struggling to find a unique birth announcement for her soon-to-be-born twin girls. She knew if she could hand-paint murals and custom gifts, she could create exactly what she wanted, so she took the same painted designs she created for clients and produced a collection of inspirational greeting cards

"Our two sons and twin daughters were the inspiration behind the name Multiple Blessings. And because the greeting cards and gifts contained scripture and messages of inspiration, joy and blessings were multiplied as they were sent all over the country," she says.

Over the years, Caroline has developed a distinctive style by staying true to her passion for painting and her niche for including inspirational messages. Her art and patterns appear on pillows, blankets, jewelry, stationery products, ceramics, cups, coasters, fabric and more, and she designs from her studio in Charlotte, North Carolina where her family provides love, support and much of the color and character for her creations. She is always busy sketching and designing her next inspirational project. For more information, check out her blog DESIGNING FOR THE SOUL where she journals about how her design work, her faith and her family all converge.

an early love of art:

"I was blessed to inherit my grandfather's artistic talent and knew it from a very young age. I dabbled in everything I could get my hands on…watercolors, oil, acrylic, charcoal, clay, jewelry making, cartooning classes, and I even remember searching through Mom's fabric scraps trying to create clever outfits for my Barbies."

daily inspiration:

"I am most inspired by God's creation. I notice details in nature's smallest places…water droplets on flower petals, the color palette of a sunset, the chartreuse green of a granny smith apple, the intricate pattern on a monarch butterfly."

why sending letters still matters:

"Written words are something to be treasured. I still believe there is no better correspondence than heart-felt words on beautiful paper. They can be treasured forever and passed down through the generations."
