Modern and folksy, with a passion for fine craftsmanship
Alan Henderson and Jennifer Tatham met while working together at a design firm and art gallery, where they spent much of their time daydreaming about starting their own company. The pair first pursued their dream of becoming successful stationery designers as "night owls," moonlighting by creating invitations, logos and letterhead for friends. In 2004, the duo went out on a limb to start their stationery company, which is devoted to creating unique letterpress cards and other eco-friendly products. They found inspiration from the versatile works of Bjorn Wiinblad, Alexander Girard, Swedish and American folk artists, and also in the style of British haberdashers and all the little critters and colors of Mother Nature. With a passion for fine craftsmanship and detail, the pair has quickly gained recognition for their one-of-a-kind approach to color, texture and pattern.

STATIONERY SNAFFU:
At Night Owl, everyone's biggest pet peeve is the frequent misspelling of "stationery" and "stationary"-the former defines a posh paper product, while the latter is an adjective denoting an immovable object!

TWO TINY FLASHBACKS:
When Jennifer was a child, she loved to collect and trade stickers. She also collected anything from Hello Kitty. Alan, on the other hand, loved to collect stamps and send letters. He also spent a great deal of his time with his grandmother at her fabric store.
