"I ordered this birth announcement two years ago for my first baby, and they were absolutely wonderful. When I ordered the exact same announcement for my second baby, I expected the quality to be just as good. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with this second round of announcements. My pictures were taken by the exact same photographer with the exact same camera. This second round of announcements was printed on a thick, cardboard paper that gave the pictures a textured, grainy look. Additionally, the sharp color of my photos was completely lost in these announcements. When I hold my first-born's announcement up to these that I made for my second child, there is a huge, disappointing difference. These prints cost way too much money to have such a huge discrepancy."
Response from Tiny Prints:
Hi STaylor! We noticed on your orders that the order for your first child was done on our Signature Semi-Gloss paper, and the second was the Signature Matte. Matte cardstock has a higher dot gain (the spread of the feathered ink dot on the paper), which softens the image. To those who are used to a glossier look, it may appear less crisp than the original image on the screen.

"The colors of this card coordinated perfectly with the outfit my son was wearing in his newborn pictures. I had one picture that was my favorite, and 2 others I thought were adorable & couldn't choose between - so the 3 picture layout with one prominent picture & 2 smaller pictures was perfect. In retrospect, I would've gone with the light blue back of the card instead of the brown so I could've written my thank yous there. The brown is too dark to write on, even with black ink. But it does look lovely."
"I wasn't expecting the paper to be like card stock, I was thinking it would be more like photo paper but I'm happier with the card stock feel because it seems more durable. Personalizing the card was very simple."
"The prints came out looking too dark, not like they appeared on the computer. i don't know how to make sure this doesn't happen short of asking for a proof. I wish the person that reviewed the card had let me know or adjusted the brightness themselves."
