Envelopes
...for birth announcements and other baby stationery
Selecting the right envelope is similar to choosing an outfit. The content inside is what counts, but first impressions are difficult to change. Envelopes play a crucial role when communicating with stationery. People pick up a stack of mail and decide what to throw out and what to open based on the envelope's appearance. You want your invitation or announcement to go to the top of the mail stack, and an envelope with a catchy shape, unique texture, exciting color or preprinted design will do just that.
Foil Lined Envelopes
For that extra touch, foil lined envelopes can add both elegance and eye appeal. Envelopes with patterned interior linings look both elegant and expensive.
Double Envelopes
The idea behind the double envelope originally came from wedding invitations. The envelope containing the wedding invitation used to get soiled from shipping and handling while in transit. In order to be able to give every recipient a new, unsoiled envelope, vendors began enclosing the invitation inside a second envelope. While double enveloping is very common among wedding invitations, only the most elegant birth announcements and party invitations should use a double envelope.
