The first is that Valentine, a priest serving during 3rd century Rome defied laws set my the Emperor where marriage was outlawed. He outlawed marriage because he felt that single men made better soldiers than married men with families. Valentine considered this to be a grave injustice and would perform secret marriages for young lovers. When the Emperor discovered this, he was sentenced to death.
According to another legend, Valentine sent the very first Valentine greeting in history, while in prison. It is believed that he fell in love with a jailors daughter who visited while Valentine was there. Before he died, he allegedly wrote her a letter, which he signed From Your Valentine which is an expression still used to this day. Although the truth behind the History of Valentines Day remains somewhat of a mystery, the legends, no doubt point to a sympathetic and romantic hero.
"This is the second year ordering class valentines from tiny prints. Yes, a little pricier than valentines from Target etc but worth it for personalization. My Daughter selected style and quality very good."
"This card was a favorite among family and friends! My little boy loves to dress up as a super hero so this was the perfect way to capture his personality and send a valentine. Everything about this card was precious and perfect!"
"I bought these for my daughter to give her friends on V-day. They are nice and thick and the picture is beautiful. They are as small as, if not smaller than "boxed valentines" and come with a small envelope that we added a few banana shaped candies to. Keep in mind, these cards are small and the line to write the receiving child's name is even smaller...a younger child who can write would not have much room to write their friends name...this wasnt a problem for us as my daughter is older, but just an observation!"
"I had this printed with 'Keep Calm and Eat a Cupcake' for Valentine's Day and it was so cute! I paid for Express Shipping and it arrived in a timely manner although I was getting anxious!"
"this is the sweetest little card.. I actually used it as a first bday invite, so I worked with a designer to get everything to fit.. it turned out perfect!"
