Home · Valentine's Day Etiquette
What ever happened to etiquette? With all the hustle and bustle of our day to day lives, it seems as if everyone is too busy thinking about their day to have some good old fashioned etiquette. Well, this Valentines Day is your chance to turn that around! Here is a list of 14 things that men and women can do for each other this February 14th!

14 Tips for Men on Valentines Day

  1. Open the car door
  2. Pull out the chair for her to sit in
  3. Offer to buy her a drink instead of assuming she will because her dad is rich
  4. Give her a *real* massage, not just the short, 2 minute kind
  5. Tell her you'll rub her feet before you go to bed, then actually do it
  6. Have flowers delivered to her work so it looks like you planned ahead instead of coming home late with the last bunch from the grocery store
  7. Take the time to write something thoughtful on the card you give her, try drawing from the inside jokes you have
  8. Don't forget to make dinner reservations instead of waiting until the last night and settling for whatever you can find
  9. Dress up, doesn't matter how long you've been with her, she still likes to see you in your best attire
  10. Make eye contact, this is the day to be especially careful of "wandering eyes", all of your focus should be on your date
  11. It's not just about money, gifts you give should be thoughtful
  12. Take her for a walk after dinner at the beach or park
  13. Compliment her on how beautiful she is, even though you only took 10 minutes to get ready, she put time and energy into making herself look good
  14. Eat a breath mint!

14 Tips for Women on Valentines Day

  1. Remember that Valentines Day isn't just for women, do something thoughtful for your man
  2. Wear that dress that your man loves, even if you think it makes you look fat
  3. Order something besides a salad at dinner, men like it when their woman really eats
  4. Take a nap in the afternoon so you don't get tired early
  5. Praise him in front of other people, especially your friends
  6. At dinner, tell him he should order his favorite drink, even if you think it's too expensive
  7. Ask him to explain something that he knows a lot about
  8. Send him flowers! Men like to be remembered too!
  9. Have the house decorated with flower petals and incense ready for him when he gets home
  10. For a gift, give him something that you might normally roll your eyes at (ex. tech gadget, video game, favorite cigar)
  11. Tell him to have a beer and a snack while he waits for you to get ready
  12. Kiss his neck
  13. Don't nag him about ANYTHING, that includes: driving on the way there, what he chooses to wear or not wear, how much he tips the waitress, etc...
  14. Be direct, tell him what you want to do, otherwise if you ask him what he wants to do, mean it.
