A special time in all parents’ lives is their baby’s first Christmas. This time of joy and celebration is naturally enhanced by a baby experiencing the sparkling lights, the music and the laughter for the first time. Certainly, you can start the season off by sending out holiday cards featuring baby Christmas pictures. After the personalized cards have been sent, make Baby’s first holiday a happy occasion. Your child may not remember it specifically, but you will. Here are some ways to make it magic.
Decide ahead of time how you want your family to celebrate the holidays. Do you want your baby to celebrate a first Christmas at home? Where will you have the big holiday meal? Where will you open presents? Settle and arrange these matters with your parents and in-laws so that nobody’s feelings get hurt.
Make a baby wish list of presents for your baby, because, after all, you will be the one living with them, storing them and washing them. Create a list, then share the list with the grandparents and any others who will be buying presents for Baby.
Even if you will not be with family during the holidays, surround your baby with loving relatives and friends by displaying photographs and making them into tree ornaments. Remember that babies adore looking at photos, so each night point at photographs and say the names. Your little one will remember more than you think.
Create your own family traditions. Start a totally new ritual that you will make a lifelong practice. It need not be anything huge. Give everyone matching holiday pajamas on Christmas Eve, for example, and take a family portrait of everyone wearing them. Start a tradition of volunteer work, or donate to Toys for Tots or another similar program.
Sending out baby Christmas pictures to family and friends is wonderful, but when the holidays are over, perhaps the greatest gift to give Baby is keeping the spirit of generosity and love alive all year long. When a child experiences strong love at home, he or she gets a strong foundation on which to build a bighearted life.
"I am so happy and pleased with the way my baby shower invitations turned out. It was simple yet I was able to use their format to customize the invite to my preference. I highly recommend tiny prints. I was weary in the beginning because I have never used them before, but now I will continue to use them for all my invitation and card needs."
"This was perfect for my daughter's baby shower. It was classy and a little girly just like we wanted. We are very happy with the results."
