Moving out of your parents’ house and starting your own adult life is a big deal. There are many people today who say that young adults don’t know much about the real world. It’s part of what has bred to the term “adulting,” otherwise known as performing tasks that normal adults do when they become independent. Here are four signs that you have officially started adulting.
When you have your own apartment or house, the bills are in your name. This means that it affects your credit, which can ultimately affect big purchases you make in the future. The digital age makes it possible to schedule automatic payments for your bills, and paying them on time will benefit you in the long run. One of the first steps to proper adulting is paying these bills on time every time.
If you live alone, laundry, cooking, and regular cleanup doesn’t happen unless you make it happen. You’ll find that you can only live off of pizza, ramen, and other fast food for so long. Little makes you feel more like an adult than cooking your own food, cleaning your own custom mug, and washing your own clothes. Some people might find these tasks to be mundane, but take pride in your shouldering of responsibility.
You can’t always spend money on a brand new dress or video game. You need to make sure you pay your bills and buy the food you need. When you start saying no to impulse buying and budgeting your money, you have really started taking the adult role seriously.
It might seem silly, but the first time you put adult address labels on an envelope, complete with your name and permanent address, there is a sense of pride and accomplishment. Your parents have cared for you for years, but there is something fulfilling about being recognized as an adult member of society. Congratulations; you have officially started adulting.
"The address labels were beautifully printed and complimented the thank you cards that were sent with the label attached to the envelope. The labels were easy to peel off and attach to the envelopes. We were able to choose a font style that reflected the personality of the mother-to-be."
"The labels look just as pictured. The only changes I made were to capitalize a few letters. Several friends have commented on how nice they are."
"At first we bought these b/c we had just moved into our new house and we wanted others to notice with our letters/holiday cards. But then after our original supply ran out, we couldn't help but order more b/c this house image looks almost identical to our real house. The artwork style fits our personalites and our small town atmosphere too. Happy customers here!"
"This classic design address label is perfect and it is of good quality. We purchased this for our infant's stationary...he is set!"
"I was so impressed when these arrived and I couldn't stop gushing about them! I bought them for my boss' birthday and I can't wait to see her reaction. I know she's going to love them. They really turned out great. I want some for myself now!"
