Tips for Creating a Happy Fathers Day
On Dad's big day, it should be all about him. It's not hard to plan a happy Fathers Day filled with love, fun and celebrations for that special man in your life.
- Make sure to give Dad a Fathers Day card. He may not seem like a big softie, but he'll surely cherish this token of love. Whether the Fathers Day card is handmade with construction paper, stickers and glue or store-bought, it's the sentiment that counts.
- Ask Dad what his favorite meals are, and then treat his taste buds the entire day. Huevos rancheros for breakfast, pizza for lunch, and steaks on the grill for dinner? If that's what Dad wants, why not?
- Help Dad relax. If he likes to sleep in, keep things quiet in the morning. Add extra pillows to the sofa if he likes to catnap in the afternoon while watching sports. Or give him a back rub -- dads like massages, too!
- Plan a fun outing. Busy schedules often get in the way of family time. Use Fathers Day as an excuse to head to a baseball game, to the lake or to the electronics store to play with the latest gadgets. Let Dad pick the activity, but get the whole family in on the fun.
It's easy to have a happy Fathers Day if you just plan ahead. Ask Dad what his dream day would look like, and then make it happen on Fathers Day!
