The Evolution of Photo Cards
Photo cards have always been popular. They combine some important aspects of a holiday photo card, including the greeting itself and an up-to-date photo. Not too long ago, however, the only photo greeting cards were actually greeting cards with a photo tucked inside. Eventually, someone figured out a way to make the photo an important part of the card itself.
Thus the photo insert card was born. These took a snapshot and slid it into the photo insert card itself, making a frame for your photo and looked polished and fun. To this day, these types of cards offer fun ways to send your season's greetings.
The latest step in photo evolution takes it to the next level. Now the card and the photo really do become one with the revolutionary process of printing the photo directly on a card or postcard.
While both of these types of photo greeting cards are still available, more and more people are opting for the latter due to the ease and simplicity of the design. Plus, with the new rise in environmental awareness over the last few years, most of the greeting card world is going green and trying to save as much paper as possible.
Not only that, but there are many resources available on the web where you can simply upload a copy of your own digital photo, choose a design, and relax as a team of designers builds your card for you. If you don't feel up to playing photographer, most photo studios offer this photo greeting card option as well.
