Are you getting ready to host a train-themed birthday party for your child? Think of the party invitations as the very first decoration you will buy. Rather than purchasing generic invitations, choose adorable train invitations that will give party attendees a taste of how fun the party will be. Here are a few more ideas for fun train-themed party decorations and activities.
Cut out one side of a large cardboard box and draw a forward-facing train on it. Color the train with markers to create a colorful photo prop. Cut a circle out of the center of the train so kids can stick their heads through for pictures.
This cute idea serves as both a decoration and a party game. Create your own train tracks out of paper for indoor use, or use black gaffer tape to create outdoor train tracks along a sidewalk or garden pathway. Have the party attendees follow the train tracks to reach the prize at the end (the prize could be wooden trains that the kids can paint or cookies cut in the shape of trains with cookie cutters).
Have kids draw trains on thick craft paper, then help them cut their train pictures into puzzle-shaped pieces. Provide each child with a small bag labeled with a custom name label that they can use to take their puzzles home.
Using bread tins, create a “food train” with a variety of healthy snacks. Place items like baby carrots, grape tomatoes, celery sticks and grapes in the various bread tins. Line them up like train cars on a train track made out of paper. Place a toy train in front so it appears to be pulling the train cars.
Give one or more of these cute decoration and activity ideas a try at your child’s upcoming birthday party. Some of them take a little time and forethought, but will ensure hours of entertainment, excitement and fun.
"I was hesitant ordering an invitation online. I was very pleased to receive the order before it was due and was incredibly happy with the invitation. I will definitely be ordering from Tiny Prints in the future."
"I loved this invitation for my daughter's first birthday. It was feminine without being too girly. I loved how i could customize the layout to suit the event. I wish there were a few more font colors to choose from, but overall it was money well spent. Good quality card, crisp lines, the colors stood out. I would definitely shop at tinyprints again."
"The color pink is lighter in person than what my computer screen shows but it is still a beautiful card. The paper is a nice weight and the font is crisp. I added a picture on the back and it came out beautifully. I would definitely recommend this card to anyone looking for a traditional invitation."
"Having a set of boy/girl twins it was difficult to find a gender neutral invitation for their Upcoming Communion. This was perfect and I was so happy to be able to put both of their names on the card as well as being able to change the text to "Children" Many other places do not have this option. I would have preferred to not to have paid for a digital sample to view the invitation. The option when changing the information should have let me view it as you are allowed to when having just a single child."
"These invitations are adorable. They are perfect for my car and truck loving two year old. The paper is very nice quality and best of all...they shipped FAST! I received them in three days!"
