Kids love to take any opportunity to celebrate. This is why Valentine’s Day parties have become something of a tradition in many US elementary school classrooms. When your child’s class Valentine’s party looms on the calendar, you may find yourself wondering about a good way to celebrate with your kid’s class. Whether you are a teacher or a parent, you can make use of these fun Valentine’s Day party ideas for elementary students.
Prepare for the party by having students make a small box or pocket to hold all the cards from their classmates. You can have them recycle tissue boxes to make boxes to sit on top of their desks, or make hanging mailboxes that can be placed on the wall or in the hallway depending on the layout of your kids’ classroom.
Cupcake decorating is a fun activity that the kids get to eat afterwards. Provide each child with one or two plain cupcakes, as well as a buffet of frosting, sprinkles and candies. Lay down plastic on the table to keep things clean. Students can eat their cupcakes or exchange them when they’re done.
Reinforce some of the elementary math lessons you have been teaching in class with a Valentine’s matching game. Cut large paper or cardboard hearts in half and write a math problem on one half of each heart. Write the solution on the other half, then distribute the halves to the students. Have them find their partner and put the matching hearts together. They can then tape them together and hang them up in the classroom.
Unlike adult Valentine’s celebrations, kids Valentine’s parties aren’t intimate affairs. When making favors and unique Valentine cards, make sure there are enough that everyone in the class gets one.
"Just moved to a new city and wanted calling cards to share new information. Also added a list of my 12 favorite books to the back of the card being a bibliophile and often meeting with other book lovers. Lots of compliments on these sweet and fun cards!"
"My 5-year-old daughter chose this card to give to her Pre-K classmates. We personalized with her photo on the inside. She loved it!"
"The only reason I did not give the customer service/delivery part 5 stars is because a few of my cards arrive damaged through the thin sulifane packaging. The cards were nothing less than amazing, I abosolutely loved them, I was just disappointed that a few were damaged."
"This is an adorable and different valentine card for little girls..not your run-of-the-mill card..My daughter Loves it!!"
"My business card looks great--nice clear printing at this small size. I called Customer Service to choose a different delivery option, and they handled it right away--no problem."
